Hey, I’m doing pretty darn good! A post from Jasper

Howl, I have been feeling pretty darn good since I last posted about being sick. Thank goodness Mom and Dad took me to the doc. I turned 10 the beginning of February and I know I’m getting old but I still run around like a little pup. That dang Jake, though, grrr. Jake is my little brother and he gets on my nerves. We don’t get along at all. When he was a puppy we played together but now every time we get near each other we try to rip each other apart. So mom and dad have to keep us separated. Mom and dad says when they get the yard fenced in for us to play in the yard this Summer, or hopefully before that, they will have to add a separator to keep Jake and me apart. If not we will hurt each other pretty bad and I know mom and dad will be upset if we hurt each other. So I just have to stay away from the little brat!

My little sis Cloe got her stitches out the other day. You can read about it here . Poor pup only has three legs now but that doesn’t stop her from running around like any other pup her age does. Hehe, she’s a good little pup.

Fluff, my wife, kept getting loose and taking off up the road. Mom had to go up the road and get her before she got hit by a car. Boy as fat as she is I can’t believe how fast she can run. Ahem, don’t tell her I said that or she will want a divorce. So for now mom and dad bought a better chain to keep her tied up outside. As much as they hate keeping us on chains they have to until the yard gets fenced in. The only one who is allowed to run now is Scotty and that is because he is trained really good to stay in the yard. Mom puts him outside when he needs to use the potty and he barks at the door when he is ready. He is much older than me and doesn’t like to play or run very much. So he doesn’t take off like the rest of them try to. I don’t take off if I get loose anymore either. I’m getting too old to do that too. When I get loose I am good and go right to the door. Dad lets me in the house for a while and then fixes my chain. They can’t buy me a new on yet because I am so big I have to have a log chain and they aren’t very cheap anymore. Mom says hopefully they won’t need to buy a new chain for me because she wants to get the yard fenced in as soon as they can. She hates seeing us chained up all the time. Of course she walks us up and down the road so we can have our exercise but she can’t let us all stay in the house because there is 6 of us now. So the two youngest and Scotty stays inside at night and me, Fluff, and my daughter Sammy stay outside. I don’t like being in the house anyway. As soon as mom or dad bring me in for a little bit I go right to the door wanting back out. I love the outside, especially in the snow. I love rolling around in the snow when I can. But I hate rain and as soon as the rain starts I run in my box and hide. I am a big baby that way, hehe.

I am probably going to be a grandad in a month or so. My pup Sammy who is 2 years old now might be pregnant. Mom and dad tried to come up with the money to get her spayed but they didn’t get it done in time and Jake got to her when she was in heat. So mom and dad will be putting an ad in the paper again for free pups. Dad says he wants to keep one but mom says no more dogs. They struggle enough to feed us so we don’t need anymore mouths to feed around here.

Well that’s all I have to bark about today. Scotty will probably have something to say soon. Bark at ya later!
